EVA MARIE CHILDRESS

Funeral for Eva Marie Childress, 90, of Houston, formerly of Alto, was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, in the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mike Hogg officiating. Burial was in Old Palestine CemeteryMrs. Childress died Dec. 20. She was born Nov. 25, 1917, in Alto to Durwood and Amanda Wallace Barron. She was reared in Alto and lived in Houston for 47 years.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Pearland.

Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Max Milstead of Alvin and Janice and Kyle Simms of Pearland; a sister, Velma Bouttotte of Alto; six grandchildren, Carl Childress Jr., Denise Taylor, Krystal Milstead, Kevin Milstead, Harley Simms and Kathy Childress; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were sons-in-law and grandsons,, Butch, Joe, Kyle, Harley, Kevin and Max.
