Candidates file for ballot positions

Deadline for filing as candidates for the Democratic and Republican parties primary elections on March 4 is 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2. Caesar A. Candidates thus far to appear on the Democratic primary ballot are Incumbent Dwight L. Phifer, 2nd Judicial District Judge; Incumbent Craig D. Caldwell, county attorney; Incumbent Elmer Beckworth, district attorney; Incumbent Moody Glass Jr., commissioner Pct. 3; Randall Bonner, Commissioner Pct. 3; F.E. Hassell, Commissioner Pct. 3; Incumbent Joe Self, constable Pct. 4, Jamie Beene, constable, Pct. 4; and Jeremy Jackson, Constable Pct. 2.

Filing for places on the Republican primary ballot to date are Incumbent James Campbell, sheriff; Incumbent Lynn Kelley, constable Pct. 1; Jack White, constable Pct. 2; Incumbent Eddie Lee, constable Pct. 3; Kelly Traylor, commissioner Pct. 1; Kevin Lankford, commissioner Pct. 1; James M. Bacon Sr., commissioner Pct. 1; Jake Carter, constable Pct. 2.
