As I was getting ready for work on Dec. 17, I heard a loud bang and I knew what it was. Another large dog had gotten hit in front of my house on U.S. Highway 84 west. Funeral for N.E. (Shack) Shackelford, 84, of Mixon, was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the Mixon First Baptist Church with John Cole and Rev. Joe Ballard officiating. Burial was in the Mixon Cemetery. Mr. Shackelford died Dec. 22. He was born May 5, 1924, in Cherokee County. More...
