When our kids were young, some of their favorite books were the "Where's Waldo" series. Artist Martin Landford created an engaging character wearing a red and white stocking cap, giant round glasses and brown hair raked to the side. And then he hid the little guy on pages in a picture book where Waldo seemed to disappear in a sea of humanity. More ... And now begins the last month of this year. It has been the shortest ever for your writer, but then, isn't that what we're told to expect? And how many of you remember with me this date, Dec. 7, 1941? I could only find one or two of you. Most folks are too young. They only know what history has taught about that "infamous day. More ... Christmas will be here before you know it, and folks along El Camino Real are working double-time trying to do all the activities that come with the season. Church programs, school programs and Christmas parties everywhere will be keeping everybody pretty busy until the fat man makes his appearance on Christmas. More ... |
