He's excited considering that he has a volleyball team in the playoffs, a football team on the verge of making the playoffs and now, a brand new coliseum style venue that is getting closer and closer to completion.

Regional qualifiers
     Jose Leon and Xochitl Castro of Alto High School have advanced to the Regional Cross Country meet on Saturday at Lone Star College in Humble. Leon placed first at the district meet while Castro placed 10th. The two runners are coached by Mildred Brown.

Golf tourney benefits N. Cherokee County VFD
      Golfers from around the area turned out for the 11th annual North Cherokee County Volunteer Fire Department golf tournament held Saturday October the 18th at The Woods At Jacksonville. The golf tournament is one of two major fundraisers the members organize each year. Participation and mild fall temperatures made it a successful day.
