Alto Red Ribbon week

RHS Red Ribbon week
     Among those participating in the Rusk High School Wear Red Day Oct. 31 were in front, Nelcy Hernandez; and in back from left, Emily Marugg, Grace Castillo, Tommy Marchetti, Amanda Gilchrest, Math instructor Sheri Whitesides, Randall Upshaw and Stephanie Aills. The day's activities were in support of DARE and a Drug Free Week.

Effort
     Fourth Grade teachers at Rusk Intermediate School celebrated Red Ribbon Week by "Partnering Up Against Drugs." They all dressed alike to increase awareness of drug prevention. Veterans Program planned
      The Rusk Elementary School Veterans Day program is planned for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Rusk High School auditorium. County Judge Chris Davis will speak.

Mock presidential election
     Rusk Junior High eighth grade mentorship students conducted a mock presidential election on Nov. 3 to teach students about the voter registration process. Students needed to present a voter registration card to receive a ballot. Voter turnout averaged around 60 percent for each grade level.
