Sue Hatch speaks to club Oct. 22
      Sue Ellen Hatch, guest speaker for the Oct. 22 meeting, spoke on "Seasons of Time." In her talk she illustrated flower arrangements with Bible themes. Her first inspiration to do this type arrangement came when her mother was ill.

Book Cottage plans tea
      A Book Cottage, 593 S. Dickinson in Rusk, will host a tea party at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15. There will be door prizes and a gift basket making demonstration. Those attending will be treated to a number of unique teas and treats while Leslie Hassell presents the latest creations of the Longaberger Basket Co.

Annual chicken spaghetti luncheon is Nov. 7
      The Rusk First United Methodist Church's annual chicken spaghetti luncheon will be held from 11 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 in the fellowship hall. The meal will consist of chicken spaghetti, salad, green beans, bread, dessert and drink. Price is $6 per plate.

Jacksonville library offers access to eAudiobooks
      Thanks to a grant from the Texas Book Festival Jacksonville Public Library patrons have anytime anywhere access to more than 2,600 different eAudiobook titles for adults teens and children. The library began offering downloadable audio books on March 1.

More than 1,000 goblins haunt downtown Rusk
Children barter tricks for treats from local merchants
      A pproximately 600 spooks and goblins were anticipated for downtown trick or treating in Rusk last Friday. That number swelled to more than 1,000 as youngsters and parents made their way around the square to offer tricks in exchange for treats from area merchants.

     Sponge Bob takes a "licking" from Trevor Hassell at Little Britches pre-K in Rusk. Students in Dana Monkress' class enjoyed a holiday pinata as part of their Halloweeen celebration last Friday.
