Wealth isn't always measured in dollars
      N ot long ago, I gingerly cracked into a fortune cookie with great anticipation. With all the bad economic news, I was hoping for sage wisdom that would tell my future - perhaps a message like, "Great wealth will smile on you soon.

      H ere we go with another countdown. This one is the number of days left in the year and how many days until we greet Mr. Santa at the annual Yule Parade. As we continue to clean up the candy wrappers from Halloween, the downtown trick or treating t was a festive event for the small, costumed goblins.

HIGH POINTS from El Camino Real
      Folks along El Camino Real have made it through another Pecan Festival and the first weekend of deer season. It was a little warmer than most folks would like for the hunting season part of the weekend, but it sure made for some nice festival weather downtown. I didn't bag that big buck, but I did manage to gather up four bits' worth of news.
