Free Health Screening at Brookshire's in Palestine

In the United States today there are 20.8 million children and adults who have diabetes and an estimated 5 to 10 million individuals that have high blood pressure.  Unfortunately, many of these individuals are not aware that they have these diseases because the symptoms seem harmless.  Recent studies indicate that early detection and treatment can decrease the chance of developing the complications associated with diabetes and high blood pressure.  Health screenings provide information, guidance, and support of healthier lifestyles and have a major influence on reducing these health problems.

Home Care Network and Palestine Resource Center for Independent Living (PRCIL) will host a free health screening at Brookshire’s Food Store located at 2107 S. Loop 256, Monday, November 10th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Home Care Network nurses will perform free screenings for high blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol.  For more accurate results, one must be fasting prior to testing.
