Garage sale, bank fund will benefit child needing specialized surgery

A fund has been established to benefit a Rusk baby who will undergo surgery in Dallas Oct. 28.

Three-month-old Jeremy Wayne Lee Jr. was diagnosed with craniosynostosis. Corrective surgery is required to remove a strip of bone from his skull to allow room for his brain to grow.

The baby will have to wear a protective helmet costing $1,800, which insurance will not cover. The family anticipates uninsured expenses of approximately $3,000.

A benefit garage sale will be held Friday at 238 CR 1501 in Rusk.

A fund has also been established in the baby's name at the Southern Cherokee Federal Credit Union.

Wayne's parents are Jeremy and Cathy Lee of Rusk. Grandparents are Donna and Joe Hammon, also of Rusk. For additional information, call the Hammons at (903) 683-1540.
