Immunization rates for Texas children increased 19 percent over the past five years to reach a record high in 2007, according to statistics released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Texas rate was 77.4 percent for 2007, up from 65 percent in 2002. More ... House Bill 2685 increases the marriage license fee to $60. The fee will be waived for couples who complete an 8-hr premarital class. Counties may continue to charge up to $12. Is this a good idea? More ... The new marriage license fee is not a good idea.
