Nursing home gives supplies
     Residents, volunteers and staff at Lexington Place recently worked together to provide school supplies to assist six students in the Pre-K four-year-old class at Rusk Primary School. Helping with the donation, presented to Assistant Principal Brian Joyner, are from left, resident Emilio Contreras, Mr. Joyner, resident Willie Johnson, volunteers Jade Morrison and Abigail Garmon, and resident Janice Griffin. Activity director is Mary Beth Garmon and assistant director is Amber Bates. Randy Allison is the administrator.

     Margie and Charles Adams of Rusk announce the engagement of their son, Stephen Blair Adams, to Courtney Nicole Cook, daughter of Cheri Kam of Nacogdoches and Roy D. Cook of Camas, Wash. Miss Cook is a graduate of Auburn University, with a B.A. in psychology. Mr. Adams is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University with a B.A. in music, and a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University with a master's degree in piano performance. An early fall wedding is planned.

Drop off, pick up rules told
      New student drop off and pick up procedures will be enacted with the new Alto Elementary school year. Principal Melody Witt said, "Because of the construction work underway at the new elementary building the new procedure has become necessary. We desire a safe, speedy drop off and pick up for all students.

     Grace Fellowship in Rusk will host Evangelists Jeff and Norine Spring at the 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24,services. He has been a full-time evangelist and pastor for more than 20 years. Jeff has been a rodeo cowboy, an all-star football player, and has traveled internationally preaching the Word of God. Jeff and his wife, Norine, have recorded both secular and religious projects.
