      Alto's new elementary school will be built for almost $1.2 million less than expected as the Alto ISD Board of Trustees accepted a $5,173,521 bid from Slone Construction Company of Marshall during a special meeting May 15. Slone underbid Berry and Clay of Rusk by $57,779.

Team Rusk continues efforts to bring Etech to town

      Team Rusk is at it again as several local entities and community members are pitching in to help Etech, Inc. relocate to the city of Rusk, said City Manager Mike Murray. "This is turning into a community wide project," he said. "Alliance Data sold the furniture from their Jacksonville location to the Rusk Economic Development Corporation for $30,500.

Senior Finale golf tourney
     COURTESY PHOTO The Annual Rusk Senior Finale Benefit Golf Tournament, sponsored by Greg James Country Motors, was held recently at the Birmingham Forest Golf Club in Rusk. The first place team was awarded $500. Pictured from left are: Jaime Magruder, Rusk Senior Finale President Shelley Norman, Rupert Robert, Bryan Raiborn and Larry Patillo. Proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the Rusk Senior Finale, a program aimed at curbing underage drinking and the related fatalities on graduation night.
