      Funeral for Myrtis Syble Price Reed, 88, of Wells, was at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, in the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home chapel, with Kevin Somerville officiating. Burial was in the Alto City Cemetery. Mrs. Reed was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Angelina County, to the late Eula Grisham and Walter H. Price. She died Tuesday, April 1.

      Funeral for Oleta Byers, 86, of Oakland will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, in Oakland Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. R.S. Dyess officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Mrs. Byers died April 6. She was born Oct. 25, 1921, to Harrison and Minnie Butler Yarborough.
