Eagles drop J'ville game
Rusk finishes second in Fairfield tourney
      By the time the Rusk Eagles took the field on Thursday evening, they had already taken down one opponent on the day, defeating John Tyler in the opening round of the Fairfield Tournament. Unfortunately for the Rusk fans who braved the cold weather, the Eagles weren't able to take down their second opponent of the day, as the Eagles fell to the Jacksonville Indians 6-5.

Lady Eagles win Longview tourney
      The Rusk Lady Eagles continue to roll as they won first place in the Longview Tournament over the weekend. Rusk knocked off Atlanta, Gilmer, Chapel Hill, Evangel, Pleasant Grove and Gladewater to claim victory. The win streak advances the Lady Eagles to a 13-3 record going into District 20-3A action.

      After hours of reviewing resumes and narrowing down the field of 111 applicants, Rusk Superintendent Dr. Jim Largent and the search committee have announced the four finalists for the position of athletic director and head football coach for Rusk High School.
