2 Nacogdoches men named to Lon Morris College board
Greg James, Frank Ashcroft will help guide college

Two Nacogdoches men, Greg James and Frank Ashcroft, have been named to the Lon Morris College Board of Trustees.

Mr. James, who owns Greg James Country Motors in Rusk, is a 1977 graduate of the University of Michigan and

2004 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University where he received his MBA and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma National Business Honor Society.

He has been active in the Rusk and Nacogdoches communities, serving as chairman of the Nacogdoches Economic Development Corporation from 1997-2000, board member of the Rusk Industrial Foundation, Rusk Chamber executive committee member, chairman and founder of Keep Nacogdoches Beautiful and City of Nacogdoches planning commission chairman.

In addition, Mr. James has served on the SFASU Foundation Board, established an SFASU Alumni Association Scholarship, has been a University of Texas Longhorn Foundation member since 2001. He has served on the SFASU College of Business Dean Search Committee.

He and his family are members of the Nacogdoches First United Methodist Church, where he serves as a member of the communications team, endowment committee, finance committee, Emmaus reunion leader, coordinator for small fellowship groups, pew captain leader and prayer counselor.

While serving as Lon Morris College trustee, Mr. James will provide his financial expertise as a member of the finance committee.

He and his wife, Cindy, have one daughter, Katie Lynn James.

Mr. Ashcroft is a 1975 graduate of Texas A&M University at Commerce. He serves as a director for the Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce and Nacogdoches Economic Development Committee. He is a member of the Nacogdoches Industrial Foundation and served as a director for Regions Bank, Nacogdoches from 1982-2005.

Currently, Mr. Ashcroft is president of BFA Enterprises Inc., a residential and commercial real estate firm and was a stockholder, director and general manager of both Nacogdoches and Sulphur Springs Coca-Cola Bottling Companies.

In addition, Mr. Ashcroft is active in the First United Methodist Church in Nacogdoches where he serves as a member of the board of trustees and endowment committee and is former chair of the finance committee and a past member of the district board of trustees.

As a Lon Morris College trustee, Mr. Ashcroft will provide leadership and direction as a member of the endowment committee.

He and wife, Anne, have two daughters, Ashley and Alexandra.
