Rusk Intermediate flag football teams battle in championship tournament

The second annual Flag Football Championships took place last week at Rusk Intermediate School.

"We had many great games and lots of fun," said Coach Marks Lanham.

Austin, Tex. Team won the fifth-grade boys class numberone and Honolulu, Hawaii Team won the fifth-grade boys class number two.

Then, Austin beat Honolulu 7-6 in the championship game.

The final game ended in a tie and was decided by a kick-off. Sean Bixler kicked the winning field goal.

Jackson, Miss. Team won the fifth-grade girls class number one and Honolulu, Hawaii Team won the fifthgrade girls class number two. Then, Honolulu beat Jackson 12-8 in the championship game.

Leonard's boys won the fourth grade class number one and McRight's boys won the fourth grade class number two. Then, Leonard's class beat McRight's class 30 to 22 in the championship game.

Whitehead's girls won the fourth grade class number one and Oliver's girls won the fourth grade class number two.

Then, Whitehead's girls beat Oliver's girls 14 to 0 in the championship game.
