Church Chancel Choir

holds special performance

The Chancel Choir of the A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church in Alto will present "The Love of God at Christmas" at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 in the church sanctuary. The gospel quartet, Had-A-Call, will also sing.

The music is under the direction of Marcia Hassell. The public is invited to attend.

Revival slated for Eastside

Baptist Church of Rusk

Evangelist Jon Moore will speak in revival at Eastside Baptist Church of Rusk. The revival will begin at 11 a.m. Dec. 2, then at 7 p.m. Dec. 2-5. For more information, call (903) 683-2566.

Methodist women sell

cookbooks, CDs

The Methodist Women and Prayer Group of A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church have cookbooks and CDs for sale. Seven hundred recipes are featured.

Alto Lions plan Christmas

parade Dec. 10

The Alto Lions Club will sponsor the annual Alto Christmas parade at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10. Those wishing to participate are encouraged to meet at the Missionary Baptist Church, 107 Elkhart, at 5:30 p.m. the day of the parade.

Theme for this year's parade is "A Family Christmas." Plans are to have the Christmas parade annually on the second Monday of each December.

'Green tie' event will

benefit Relay for Life

A green tie affair to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life will be held 6:30-9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3 at the Castle on the Lake, U.S. Highway 79, Jacksonville. It has been calendared as the social event of the year. The event will honor cancer survivors. It will feature valet parking, silent auction, music and hors d'oeuvres. There will be door prizes and green frogs and ties will be distributed at the door.

The Resale Shop operated by the Volunteer Council for the Rusk State Hospital, Inc. is open 10 a.m. -3 p.m., at 545 Castner St, in Rusk on the first and second Friday of each month.
