Club hears about goats

Ann Rodgers presented a program on the East Texas Goat Raisers Assn. (ETGRA) at a recent Lions Club meeting. Her group is a nonprofit organization for goat enthusiasts promoting the industry in East Texas. The organization was established in 1996 by those interested in raising and marketing goats.

The organization is headed by a board of directors elected by the general membership. Quarterly membership meetings are held.

President of ETGRA is Brian Kinney. Paul Jopling is vice-president; Nancy McKinnie, secretary; and Danette Shoemaker, treasurer. The speaker was introduced by Charlie Burfoot.

The Lions Club car in the Cub Scout Derby Daze won third place. Profit from concession sales totaled $115.50.

The chili supper made a profit of $265 from additional sales at the door and made a profit of more than $1,000 from all ticket sales.

Guests were Ms. Rodgers, Sandra Ard, AAndra Patterson and Boots Burfoot.
