Jacksonville man arrested for fraud
Halford posts bond for not fulfilling Internet orders

A Jacksonville man, Eual Brent Halford, 40, has been arrested by the local police on charges of credit card and debit card abuse. He has posted $25,000 bond on the charges.

Mr. Halford is believed to have cheated hundreds of people out of thousands of dollars through a sports memorabilia Web site.

Sgt. Daniel Franklin, police detective, said the police department has never had any complaints filed against Mr. Halford. "They all contacted the Better Business Bureau and that agency brought it to us."

The BBB provided the Jacksonville police with approximately 400 names of potential victims and police have successfully contacted 25-30 persons. These people had ordered merchandise from www.tradingcardcollectibles, but never received anything. The amounts varied between $50-$45,000.

If convicted he could spend two years in a state jail. More charges may be filed. Also, the FBI and U.S. Postal Service are interested in the case.
