WILLIAM ORNAN WHATLEY JR.

Funeral for Willam Ornan Whatley Jr., 93, of Jacksonville, was at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Autry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dan Middleton officiating. Burial was in Old Jacksonville City Cemetery.

Mr. Whatley died Nov. 3. He was born Nov. 16, 1913, in Jacksonville. He was a retired postal carrier in Jacksonville and a member of the Mount Selman United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were a step-daughter, Nancy Sheets Kitchens and a step-grandson, Tim Kitchens.

Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Elsie Bonner Whatley of Jacksonville; a son, William O. III and Sherry Whatley of Grapeland; a daughter, Dorothy M. Little of Tyler; a step-son and step-daughterin law, Weldon and Sandra Sheets of Celeste; a grandson, David Little of Jacksonville; a granddaughter, Laurie Little of Tyler; two step-grandsons and a step-granddaughterin law, Michael and Sherie Sheets and Wade Sheets, all of Celeste; three step-granddaughters and step-grandsons, Shona and Louis Domgard of Norman, Okla., Suzanne and Craig Herring of Dripping Springs and Amanda and Andy Keymann of Steeleville, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren, Colt Herring and Laurel Herring of Dripping Springs, Griffin Domgard of Norman, Okla., Kailey Keymann of Wesley Keymann of Steelville, Mo., Elizabeth Sheets of Celeste, Katelyn Kitchens of Austin and Lincoln Shaw of Tyler; and a niece, Patricia Steward of Corpus Christi. Pallbearers were David Little, Michael Sheets, Wade Sheets, Andy Keymann, Randy Bonner, Daryl Bonner, Mike Young and Neal Young.
