JMS choir participates in All Region

Sixty-seven members of the Jacksonville Middle School Choir participated in all-region choir auditions Oct. 13 at Hallsville High School. They competed against hundreds of students from throughout the area. JMS had 18 students make All-Region Choir for 2007-08. These students will perform along with other students who made the choir in a concert at UT Tyler in November.

The All-Region Choir members include: Soprano 1, Courtnee Heidelberg and Kaelah Briggs; Soprano 2, Amanda Hinkle, Chelsea Quevedo and Maisah Foreman; Alto, Kirsten Kirby, Selena Perez, Makayla Mack- fifth chair, Elisha Holcomb- fourth chair. McCartney Satterwhite- first chair, Tiffany Lewis- first chair; Tenor, Eric Perkins, Willie Acker, Dillon Duke, Brandon Kinney, Frederick Sanders, Jared Woods- first chair for the second year in a row and Bass, Lekeldrick Anderson. Students learned three very difficult pieces in preparation for their audition. They were also responsible for sight-reading a selection.
