4B status for Rusk will help economy
Angela Raiborn Rusk

The Rusk city council approved a resolution that will allow citizens to decide whether or not to replace our current 4A sales tax with a 4B tax.

Both taxes are a ½ cent sales tax, designed to stimulate economic growth. While the 4A tax that we currently have is geared toward industrial development, the proposed 4B tax could be used for more projects.

If approved the new 4B tax would allow us to put money into our aging infrastructure, or a long list of projects that has a direct effect on economic development.

Voters will have an opportunity to make this change at the polls Nov. 6th. I would like to encourage anyone who has questions concerning this to call myself, your councilmen or the city manager for additional information.

Mrs. Raiborn is the mayor of Rusk.
