TxDOT responds quickly to request for sign
DR. MICHAEL BANKS Jacksonville

Last summer I noticed there were no signs identifying the Neches River on Highways 84, 79 and 175, which is the border between Cherokee and Anderson counties.

I called Bill Terry, Maintenance Supervisor, with the Texas Department of Transportation to see if these signs could be placed.

In a very timely manner the signs were placed. Thanks Bill and TxDOT.

Now this natural treasure of East Texas will be identified when crossed.

Dr. Banks is a member of the Friends of the Neches River.
