FREDA MAE MERCHANT

Funeral for Freda Mae Merchant, 98, of Maydelle, was at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Autry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Lee Welch officiating. Burial was in Mt. Comfort Cemetery.

Mrs. Merchant died Oct. 3. She was born on Oct. 25, 1908, in Thornton.

Mrs. Merchant was a Baptist and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lilly Mae McDaniel and Fred Foreman; her husband, John Horace Merchant; two sons, Fred Allen Merchant and Don Ray Merchant; and two daughters; Janet Ann Merchant and Reba Nell Glass.

Survivors include five sons and four daughters-in-law; Billy and Avis Merchant, of Normangee, John Thomas Merchant, of Hemphill, Robert and Janice Merchant of Meridian, Doug and Kate Merchant of Eddy and Curtis and Patricia Merchant of Maydelle; a daughter, Bonnie Young of Mexia; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were John Seth Merchant, Paul Hunter Glass, Michael Merchant, David Mc- Creight, Michael McCreight, Billy John Merchant, Bobby Gene Merchant, Kenneth Glass, Zachary Curry and Aaron Curry.
