RUSK LIONS CLUB
Bobby Tosh honored
BY BILLY WATSON SPECIAL CONTRIBUTOR

A plaque of appreciation to Harry's Building Materials is presented to Bobby Tosh, owner, by Vic Whadford. The Rusk company was recognized for its contributions through the years to the Rusk Lions Club.
Vic Whadford, Lions Club president, recently presented Bobby Tosh with a plaque from the Rusk Lions Club noting the support and contributions made to the club by Harry Tosh Building Materials. Members said they remember the financial contributions made each year and the assistance and donations the business made to construction of all four baseball fields and the swimming pool. The pool was built by the Rusk Lions Club and is now operated by the city of Rusk.

In recent years Harry's Building Materials has provided a meeting place for the club. Harry's Building Materials assisted the club in providing recreation to children of Rusk and support for Cub Scouts with Lion Bobbie Burch serving as Scoutmaster. Leo Tosh, Bobby Tosh's uncle, was the first president of the Rusk Lions Club. He died July 11, 1977. Ardys Brown inducted Lisa Westbrook into the club, and introduced Ann Brown, her mother, as her sponsor. Lion Ann is now secretary and treasurer of the club.

Thomas the Tank children's train is coming to Rusk Oct. 19-21 and 26- 28. The Rusk Chamber of Commerce anticipates more than 20,000 people with small children coming to the Texas State Railroad Park on those dates.

Guests were Boots Burfoot and Steve Simmons. Lion Whadford announced a welcome to the second cabinet meeting to be held on Oct. 12 in Port Arthur at the Holiday Inn Park Central. This meeting represents the 90th anniversary celebration for the Port Arthur Founders Lions Club. There will be a reception from 6-6:30 p.m.

It will be the second cabinet meeting for the year.
