Beckworth elected to state board

Cherokee County District Attorney Elmer C. Beckworth Jr. has been elected to the board of directors of the Texas District and County Attorneys Association for a two year term ending in September 2009. Mr. Beckworth will serve as director for Region Six which encompasses Northeast Texas. He has served as district attorney since Jan. 1, 2001. Prior to his election as district attorney he was employed as assistant district attorney for Charles Holcomb and Jim Cromwell.
