Funeral for Annie Ruth Hendrick Nicar, 92, of Alto was at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the A. Frank United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Randy Fitzgerald officiating. Burial was in Lynches Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Nicar died Sept. 26. She was born near Alto the late Wilbur Cortice Hendrick and Naomi Ruth Butler Hendrick on Dec. 5, 1914. She attended Stephen F. Austin State Teachers College and taught school for a short time. She was a member of the Order of the Easter Star No. 79 in Rusk and a member of the A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church. She served nine years as communion steward and was active in the United Methodist Women.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 49 years, Jack Nicar; an infant son, Lynn Wilson; her parents; and a brother, Weldon Hendrick.

Survivors are a daughter, Charlotte Corley of Beaton, La.; a grandson and his wife, Stephen and Elena Corley of Shreveport, La.; a granddaughter and her husband, Lisa and David Chreene of Memphis, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Lauren Corley, McKenzie Corley and Mia Corley of Shreveport and Payton Chreene and Hannah Chreene of Memphis; a nephew and his wife, Ronnie and Betty Hendrick of Alto; a great-niece, Daryl Morris; a great-nephew, Ty Hendrick; two great-greatnieces, Caitlin Morris and Samantha Morris.

Pallbearers were Alfred Danheim, David Danheim, Jim Bob Lindsey, Chris Davis, Randy Low and John Paul Dixon.
