Commissioners establish new job descriptions for county employees Job descriptions for county employees are on file in the offices of the county judge and the treasurer. Members of the Cherokee County Commissioners Court met Friday morning to adopt job descriptions for all employees. These descriptions will be distributed to all employees with their checks. The descriptions must be signed by the employees and returned to their employing official. Commissioner Moody Glass III said, "I think the descriptions are too wordy." Judge Chris Davis replied, "This is something we might want to look at in the future. With our word processing system the description can be changed." Commissioner Mary Gregg said, "When a new official comes in, this will help that person know what people are supposed to be doing." Pay will match job. Employee evaluations will compare that person's performance with the job description. Commissioners will meet again on Tuesday, Oct. 9. The meeting is being held on Tuesday rather than the regular Monday because of the Columbus Day holiday. Attending the meeting were Judge Davis; Commissioners Gregg, Kevin Pierce, Glass and Byron Underwood; and County Clerk Laverne Lusk. |
