52-year-old Rusk man arrested for child indecency A 52-year-old Rusk man accused of two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact has been released from jail on two bonds. John R. Chandler was arrested Sept. 19, and was arraigned by Judge James Morris, Pct. 3. Deputy Gina Battley, who is the lead investigator on the case, told the Cherokeean Herald that two bonds of $20,000 each were posted on Sept. 20. Deputy Battley said she has been out of the office for 10 days attending a class and on vacation. She said she is still reviewing the paperwork on the case since returning to work Monday. The case will likely be referred to the Cherokee County Grand Jury for review and possible indictment. |
