Pioneer festival set Oct. 13

Rusk's annual Pioneer and Heritage Festival is planned for 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Jim Hogg City Park. The event is sponsored by the Rusk Chamber of Commerce. Admission is $1 or a can of food to go to the Rusk Good Samaritan. The day is a time to remember the country where pioneers came to live. Local residents are invited to "spend the day in the country."

Booths are available for $30 for a 10 by 10 foot space. There is an additional $25 if the chamber provides a tent.

Food booths are $55. The chamber will provide 220 and 110 electricity, but vendor must provide their own adapters. A food permit must be obtained from the Cherokee County Health Department. Vendors should contact Charlotte Sanders at (903) 683-2990.
