Clint Goff is new airport coordinator
Mr. Goff 's employment was unanimously approved Monday morning following an executive session of the commissioners court. Mr. Goff has worked at the airport for the past nine years and assumed many of the coordinator's duties after Mr. Long died. "He will assume his new duties on Oct. 1. The position pays in the neighborhood of $1,200 monthly," Judge Chris Davis said. "We really had a lot of good applicants and appreciate their interest in the county," Judge Davis said. In other matters coming before the commissioners was the approval of the 2007 county tax roll of $11,038,092.45. Taxable property before exemptions totaled $1,910,347,116. Taxable property for county taxes after exemptions was $1,813,377,280. The taxable value for lateral road fund was $1,797,164,210. Job description postponed Approval of job descriptions for county positions was postponed until after commissioners meet at 9 a.m. Friday to discuss uniform descriptions for road jobs in all precincts. Utility lines Laying of utility lines in Precincts 2 and 4 was approved. A revised interlocal agreement with Texas Association of Counties was approved to allow the county's participation in the insurance pool. Other business Payroll deductions for United Fund contributions were approved. Rob Beall and David Myers of the Cherokee County United Fund met with commissioners to discuss how deductions could be made. United Fund has a goal of $115,000 with assistance going to 18 agencies. Ten of the agencies provide assistance to local children. All the money raised will go to Cherokee County agencies. John W. Burns of Jacksonville, of the juvenile probation department, was appointed to the Child and Family Service Board. Southwest Energy was authorized to repair CR 4913 in Precinct 4. The road was damaged from oil and gas trucks use of it. The consent agenda approved included monthly reports from Eddie Lee, constable Precinct 3, and Joe Self, constable for Precinct 4; and a plat on Loveless subdivision. Attending were County Judge Davis; Commissioners Mary Gregg, Kevin Pierce, Moody Glass III and Byron Underwood; County Clerk Laverne Lusk; and County Auditor L.H. Crockett. |
