Lady Eagles finish 3rd at Beckville tournament
Smith named to All- Tournament team

The Rusk Lady Eagles won third place in the Beckville Tournament Saturday, marking their first top-three finish in years.

""I was so proud to be a part of that experience and to see how these girls worked so well and played well as a team," said Head Coach Tiffany Cooksey.

Rusk opened tournament play with a win over Jefferson 18-25, 25-19 and 25-16. The Lady Eagles then lost to Beckville in three games before beating Waskom for the third place spot. Sierra Smith was named as an All-Tournament player.

"Throughout the whole tournament, She played really smart," Coach Cooksey said. "She sees the court really well and puts the ball into a space where the other team can't play it off."

Smith also made 58 of 60 serves. Rusk plays in Gladewater at 5 p.m. Friday.
