Reader expresses gratitude We would like to say "thank you" to the Cherokeean Herald for printing our anniversary announcement and for publishing the obituary for Kenneth Acker. I would also like to commend Leland Acker for the column written in memory of Kenneth. I know he writes great columns, but this one on Aug. 15 was so perfect, so sweet and touching. Most people don't know that the Jacksonville newspaper charged $45 for the obituary, wouldn't have run the announcement of our anniversary for less than $35, but would have run it after the event for free. It would have taken no more space to say "gonna be" than "has been," and I've been a subscriber for 10-15 years. I appreciate the Rusk folks because I worked there. Thank you very much. |
