Simpson-Dewbre vows said at Salem Baptist

Christy Jo Dewbré and Jeremy Craig Simpson were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Salem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Mabry officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Shelly and Stephen Hughes and Kevin Dewbré, all of Rusk. She is the granddaughter of Billy and Joeann Hoppers of College Station, Adell Maxwell of Rusk and Jessie Hughes of Rusk. She is the great-granddaughter of Pat Hoppers of Palestine.

The groom is the son of Harold and Judy Simpson of Rusk. He is the grandson of Nellie Kay Blackwell of Rusk and the late James Blackwell and Clifford Simpson and Ruth Simpson.

Betty Collins was instrumentalist and Phylena Castleberry, vocalist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Dewbré.

Matron of honor was Kandiss Hood of College Station. Maid of honor was Kristen Joyner of Rusk. Brian Joyner of Rusk was bestman and J.J. Jones, also of Rusk, was groomsman.

Avery Kinney and Landri Bayless served as flower girls. Andrew Johnson was ringbearers. Ushers were Hayden Dewbré and Hunter Joyner, both of Rusk.

Mrs. Simpson is a 2005 Lon Morris College graduate. She will graduate in December from Stephen F. Austin State University with a BSIS in interdisciplinary studies. She is currently employed by Rusk ISD.

Mr. Simpson is employed as an operator with Flint Energy of Kilgore.
