TOPS holds fundraiser

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) #TX1870 of Rusk is selling Country Charm candles to help raise money to buy a new scale. The 16 ounce candles are on sale for $15 each, two for $28, three for $40.

LMC choir will visit

churches Sept. 23

The Lon Morris College choir will sing at the Dialville United Methodist Church and the New Summerfield United Methodist Church Sunday, Sept. 23. The choir will be at the Dialville church at 9 a.m. and the New Summerfield church at 11 a.m.

The Rev. Ray Prince is pastor.

Our Lady of Sorrows sponsors food festival

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Jacksonville will sponsor its annual International Food Festival from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16.

Food will be served from more than 10 different countries including Irish, Italian, Lebanese, Filipino, Cajun, Mexican, Maltese, American, Colombian and German.

Advance tickets may be purchased prior to Sept. 10 for $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Tickets will be $12 for adults and $6 for children age 10 and under on the day of the festival.
