Queen will be crowned Friday night

Alto High School homecoming will begin at 7 p.m. Friday during pre-game activities at Jacket Stadium.

Highlighting the event will be the crowning of the 2007 Homecoming Queen. Candidates for the honor are twelfth grade students sponsored by the various classes. Queen candidates are Monaca Mayes, senior class nominee; Sharenza Green, junior class nominee; Lexi Sessions, sophomore class nominee; and Chandra Skinner, freshmen class nominee.

Miss Mayes is the daughter of Earnest Mayes and Ilza Gonzales. She will be escorted by Michael Parker.

Miss Green is daughter of Camille Green and will be escorted by Tarlandus Mitchell.

Miss Sessions is the daughter of Johnita and Kyle Sessions and will be escorted by Clayton Scott.

Miss Skinner is the daughter of Gia and Derrick Shepard and will be escorted by Mark Green Jr.

Homecoming duchesses include Kourtny Munsinger, Kaylan Thacker, Abbey Scott and Trakena Skinner.

Miss Munsinger, a twelfth grade student, will represent the senior class. She is the daughter of Kelly and George Martin. Her escort will be Trevor Hagerty.

Miss Thacker, a junior student, will represent her class. She is the daughter of Kay Lofton and Michael Thacker and will be escorted by J'vonte Jones.

Abbey Scott, a tenth grader, will be the sophomore class duchess. She is the daughter of Mindy and Kim Scott and will be escorted by Lance Low.

Freshman class duchess is Trakena Skinner, a ninth grader. She is the daughter of Gia Shepard and Arthur Hackney and will be escorted by Marcuse Gassaway.

The Alto Yellowjackets-Burkeville game will follow the homecoming festivities. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

The annual Alto Homecoming Festival will be downtown Saturday.
