Most cities in Cherokee County enjoy retail growth; Jacksonville suffers another slump
      Lackluster sales in Jacksonville continue to dominate the business climate in Cherokee County. Retail sales fell almost 18 percent in June, compared to the same period a year. In the year-to-September 5 column for the first six months of 2007, Jacksonville's sales are down almost seven percent.

Stella Hill sets fall hours
      The Stella Hill Memorial Library in Alto began its fall hours Sept. 1. The library is open 1-5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays.

Church on the Hill sponsors open house
