Tyler hosts extension conference Sept. 11-13

The Texas Extension Education Association will hold its 80th Annual Conference in Tyler, Sept. 11-13, at Harvey Convention Center. More than 600 women from across the state of Texas will attend. District 5, comprised of 18 East Texas counties has been planning and making ready to host this meeting for a year.

Those attending will have birthday cake", early bird workshops and conference opening session on Tuesday. Wednesday will begin with delegate training, followed by a general session featuring stories by Texas Columnist Dave Lieber, election of state officers, educational seminars and district parties. Thursday morning will kick-off with an educational workshop entitled "Master of Memory" presented by Dr. Andrew B. Crocker, Extension Program Specialist for Gerontology Health with Texas Cooperative Extension.

Winners of 20 categories of cultural arts entries will be announced. That presentation will be followed by a general/ business session, installation of new officers and presentation of Coins for Friendship to the 4-H center.
