When Will We Ever Learn?
by Bill Chandler, Evangelist
Ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Tim 3:7. I will be writing a series of bible lessons beginning this week and for weeks to come, on the subject of "When Will We Ever Learn?" Before I submit Lesson #1, I think I need to introduce myself. To some degree I liken myself to that of a number of Biblical persons, to the extent that they were of various occupations, or vocations, but professionally they were evangelists. They are as follows: 1. Matthew was a tax collector by occupation, but professionally an evangelist. 2. Andrew and John were fishers by occupation, professionally apostles and evangelists. 3. Peter was a fisher by occupation, but professionally an evangelist. 4. Luke was a physician by occupation, but professionally an evangelist. 5. Paul was a tent maker by occupation, but an apostle and evangelist by profession. I have for the better part of my life been a farmer, a business college registrar, a business college Dean, a business college President, as an occupation, but professionally an evangelist. These years of service were performed in Tyler, Dallas, Fort Worth and Abilene, TX. For the past five years I have served as an evangelist in Palestine and Grapeland, TX.

Intro: When asking this question, I want to first ask the world, then the nation, then the religious world, "When will we ever learn?" "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth," Gen.1:1. In John the first chapter, we read as follows: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God." In verse 14 we read: "The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." We understand this to be the Lord Jesus Christ. Why is it that most of the world's population do not understand and believe these words? In Matt. 28:18, Jesus said "All power is given to me in heaven and earth." This excludes all others. In Heb. 1:3 we read as follows: "Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high."

The World When will we (the world) ever learn? By the Word of God we have now established that in the beginning God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit created the Universe. We have also established that all power has been given to the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven and in earth. These facts answer many questions the world is asking and suggesting about who created the Heavens and the Earth. If the world would only look at the Word of God all their questions would be answered. Let's take for an example global warming. Since all power had been given to Jesus Christ in Heaven and in Earth can't the world see that Jesus Christ is in control of global warming? The writer of Hebrews - also says, "He is upholding all things by the Word of His power." So, it seems to me that these verses settle the matter. This is just one example, there are many more. Even the number of hurricanes that did not happen, according to the weather scientists, the world should give the credit, where credit is due, The Lord Jesus Christ.
