Sheriff's department arrests suspects on drug charges Investigators of the Cherokee County Sheriff's office in cooperation with the district attorney's office, arrested two Jacksonville residents in separate locations at approximately 4 p.m. Aug. 28. During the investigation, officers conducted numerous undercover operations in which the suspects were identified and found to have been engaged in suspected criminal activities. Arrested were Jerry Deon Ray Richardson and Reginald Bernard Whitaker, both of Jacksonville and wanted on two arrest warrants for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. Both arrests resulted in the seizure of the vehicles owned and operated by the two men. While serving the arrest warrant on Mr. Whitaker at a residence on Churchill Street in Jacksonville, investigators also detained and arrested Kevin Bernard Anderson for evading arrest and Carlos Brejon Battle for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and evading arrest. Deputies from the sheriff's office arrested Tyrone Dwight Patton of Cuney at 4 a.m. Aug. 30. Mr. Patton was arrested at a residence off CR 3502 in Cuney for possession of what is believed to be one pound of marijuana. Mr. Patton's vehicle, a 1999 GMC Denali, was seized at the scene. |
