SENETTA YVETTE MALLARD

Funeral for Senetta Yvette Mallard, 48, of Rusk, was at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Mertis M. Bartley officiating. Burial was in Rusk Memorial Cemetery.

Miss Mallard died Aug. 18. She was born July 17, 1959, in Rusk and graduated from Rusk High School and attended Tyler Junior College. She worked for Rusk State Hospital for 23 years, and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she was secretary of the church, a member of senior choir and taught the youth Sunday school class for several years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and two sisters.

Survivors include her parents, Adam Sr. and Lola Ward Mallard of Rusk; a brother, Adam Mallard Jr.; three sisters, Sharon E. Ward, Karen Bolton Edmond and Brenda Mallard Davis, all of Rusk; three nieces; one nephew; and other relatives.

Pallbearers were Walter Session, Calvin Anderson, Ceotis Meador, Andrew Jackson, Vernell Wickware, Jerry Leviston, Melvin Session II, Samuel Oneal, Larry Davis and Micheal Cook.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Rusk High School Class of 1977 and nephews. Arrangements were under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.
