Swink memorabilia will be on display at bank

Action video footage of Jim Swink's athletic career, along with more than two dozen trophies, plaques, footballs, awards and photos will be on display from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5-Friday Sept. 14 at Citizens 1st Bank in Rusk.

Dr. Swink, a Rusk High School graduate, now resides here.

Refreshments will be served throughout the day. The display will be hosted by fans and friends of Jim Swink each day and Dr. and Mrs. Swink will be present as convenient to visit and talk about exciting Texas football then and now. The public is invited to stop by the bank and view the display. There will be a reception the bank lobby for Dr. Swink from 4-5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, preceding the first home game of the Rusk Eagles.

Jim Swink, M.D. two time All American, Vietnam Purple Heart award winner, runner up for the Heisman Trophy, is the eighth recipient of the coveted Doak Walker Legends Award which will be on display. A three minute video pertaining to Dr. Swink and Rusk from the Doak Walker Awards program will be shown. Following the bank's showing for the general public, plans are that the display will be moved to Rusk High School.
