The Lions Club voted to sponsor the Horse Shoe Pitching contest at the Heritage Festival. Lisa Westbrook was approved as a new member. She is the daughter of Lion Ann Brown. Sending of $50 for a new faucet,and $125 for the cleaning of water damage to the floor of the cub scout hut was approved.

Tim Timmons reported he received a phone call from our latest foreign exchange student Cecilia Armani stating that she had arrived safely back to her home in Udine, Italy.

She thanked the Lions Club for a nice visit.

Hue Adams, administrator of Birmingham Health Care Center, brought a slide show presentation containing an overview of nursing home care in Texas.

Guests at the Lions Club on Aug. 9 were Alyssa and Kayla Ballew, Boots Burfoot, Lion Alicia Oliver from Jacksonville, Amanda Spraggins, Lisa Westbrook and Hue Adams.
