NORRIS CAMPBELL

Funeral for Jess Norris Campbell, 77, of Rusk will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mr. Campbell died Aug. 19. He was born March 3, 1930, in Ringling, Okla. to the late Jess Davis and Era Josephine Hall Campbell. He was a resident of Rusk for 63 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He retired in 1994 after 40 years as owner and operator of Campbell Auto Supply in Rusk. He also served in the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Tate Campbell in 2000; son, Jimi Campbell in 1994; brother, Grady Campbell in 2002. Survivors are his son, John David Campbell of Rusk; sister Marguerite Crane of Jacksonville; and a nephew, Bob Campbell and wife Chit of Gallatin. Pallbearers will include Don Goff, Deaton Goff, Tommy Dosser, Larry Dosser, David Blount, and Billy Lankford Jr.
