HAZEL GRIFFITH HAMBY

Funeral for Hazel Griffith Hamby, 93, of Palestine was at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Donnie Howard and the Rev. Bill Gernenz officiating. Burial was in Ferguson Cemetery. Mrs. Hamby died Aug. 16. She was born June 10, 1914, in Camp County to R.C. and Maggie Lancy Griffith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pilgrim's Home Demonstration Club.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Jessie Hamby in 1999; three sons, Charles Richard Hamby, Ricky Hamby, Gary Hamby; two sisters, Faye Honeycutt,Christine Dancer; two brothers, Earl Griffith,Albert Griffith; grandson, Michael Allen Hamby.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Susie Blackmon and Craig Caldwell of Rusk; a son, James Hamby of Elkhart; two sisters, Mildred Boyer and Dorothy Gentry of Palestine; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Billy Hamby, Gary Hamby, Rusty Hamby, Scott Blackmon, Pat Blackmon, Scott Frazier, Jason Ives and James Eckard Hamby.
