BILL HARRIS Graveside service for William P. (Bill) Harris, 87, of Rusk was at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 16, at Salem Cemetery with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Mr. Harris died Aug. 13. He was born April 3, 1920, in Rochester to the late Charlie and Pliney Wood Harris. He lived in Cherokee County 68 years, served in World War II in the U.S. Army Infantry, was a self employed welder and a Baptist. Preceding him in death was his wife, Mary Virginia Allen Harris. Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and A.C. Teer of Rusk and Judy and Rex Harrell of Lovelady; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Becky Harris of Chandler and Alfred and Linda Harris of Rusk; four granddaughters, Shelia and Karen Teer of Rusk, Teresa Spain of Bullard and Kandice Harris of Rusk; two grandsons, Michael Harris of Tampa, Fla. and Brent Harrell of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; and a special friend, Pearl Johnson. Arrangements were under the direction of Wallace- Thompson Funeral Home. |
