City of Rusk's embezzlement case may go to grand jury in September
BY GLORIA JENNINGS

The theft of approximately $150,000 from the City of Rusk's water department is still under investigation.

District Attorney Elmer Beckworth said the matter has been turned over to the Texas Rangers and is expected to be presented to the September Grand Jury.

The theft was discovered last fall, soon after the current city manager, Mike Murray, was employed. The case was taken to the district attorney's office in late January.

A city employee has been terminated.
