ELMER LEROY BURRAN

Graveside service with full military honors for Elmer Leroy Burran, 79, of Rusk was at 2 p.m. Monday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Mr. Burran died Aug. 10. He was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Weches, to the late John and Lila Henley Burran.

He had resided in Rusk for 20 years and formerly in Louisiana. Mr. Burran was Baptist. Mr. Burran retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years in the service as Sergeant First Class. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars and a combat engineer serving in Germany.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Martha Lee Burran; brothers, J.W. and Leon Burran; and a sister, Wanda Faye Burran.

Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Les and Judy Burran of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Karen Harrington of Denton; a sister-in-law, Roseanne Burran of Rusk; three grandsons and one granddaughter in-law, Troy and Jennifer Burran of Baltimore, Md., Daniel Dillon of Denver, Colo., Brian Dillon of Phoenix, Ariz.; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Arrangements were under the direction of Wallace- Thompson Funeral Home.
