Funeral for Collin Carroll, 21, of Rusk was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Rusk First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Welch and the Rev. Jim Goforth officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Carroll died in Liberia July 29. He was born in Tyler Aug. 1, 1985.

He was a dental coordinator with Mercy Ships International, a member of the First Baptist Church in Rusk, a 2003 graduate of Rusk High School, a 2006 graduate of Texas A&M University and a member of the 12th Man Alumni of A&M.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Paul Meador and Arlon Carroll.

Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Sandy Carroll of Rusk; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Carmen Carroll of Rusk and Courtney and Stephen Brooks of Bullard; a nephew, Jeffrey Carter Brooks; and his grandmothers Ruth Meador and Loma Carroll both of Rusk.

Arrangements were under the direction of Autry Funeral Home.
